Feeding Goats
What do we feed our goats?
We use a mixture of grains our grain mix including:
- Barley
- Corn
- Wheat
- Oats
mixed with:
- Lucerne Chaff
- Oaten Chaff
When mixing our goat feed we use one part grain mix, two parts Lucerne Chaff plus a little Oaten Chaff.
If the goats get to much of the grain mix they can get bloat and can die.
Also we feed them hay (especially the milkers) but mostly they browse on local vegetation.
Remembering that goats love to browse!
Our simple stocklick consists of:
- 6kg of dolomite
- 1kg of yellow dusting sulphur
- 1kg of copper sulphate
- 2-3kg of seaweed meal
Note: don’t get this mix wet.
